China’s leading coal-producing province of Shanxi produced 463 million tonnes of raw coal in the first half of the year, down 3.23% year on year, disclosed one official source on condition of anonymity.Shanxi produced 89.81 million tonnes of raw coal in June, up 9.2% from May but falling 1.89% from the year before.Over January-June, total commercial coal sales of the province amounted to 377 million tonnes, down 7.32% year on year, with June sales at 75.92 million tonnes, up 8.91% on month but down 3.92% on year.By end-June, coal enterprises across Shanxi held a total 47.39 million tonnes of coal at stocks, up 35.24% from the start of the year.China Coal Energy Co., Ltd., the country’s second largest coal producer, with 70% of its coal output from Shanxi province, produced 46.27 million tonnes in the first half of the year, down 22.1% on year.Coal output of the company stood at 9.6 million tonnes in June, down 5.3% year on year and down 3.3% from May, official data showed.
